Companies

AREAs award-winning Performing Companies, consists of select emerging artist ages 5-18 years, and embody the highest standard of professionalism, performance readiness and technical execution, representing as the Vanguards of Atlanta Dance and beyond!

In order to be considered for one of the Companies, students must:

Must participate in respective Performing Company seasonal audition
Must be enrolled at AREA for a full Performing Arts Season
Proficient in dance fundamentals (Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop) and performance readiness (varies depending upon Performing Company)
Willing to commit to rehearsals and workshops in addition to required training classes per week
Ability to participate in local, regional, and international performance opportunities

Competition Ensemble

The AREA Competition Ensemble was designed as a mechanism for serious minded dancers to participate in select Dance Competitions & Conventions as well as performances locally, and regionally. Our Competition Ensembles are broken up into Categories: Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Tap. Age Groups: 5-17 years

Performing Troupe

The AREA Performing Troupe was designed as a dance training and performance program for dancers who enjoy performing locally at a variety of community events in Atlanta and the surrounding metro Atlanta area. 7-15 years

Professional Alliance

MPA, MPA/2

The McClendon Professional Alliance MPA, MPA/2 was conceived to give opportunity for professional and pre-professional apprentice artists in the Arts the ability to create, perform, and grow within their arts interest through study, performance, and awareness. Its primary mission is to encourage a cooperative and collaborative creative experience, and to expose both the artists and the Atlanta community to a powerful culmination of talent and the true essences of a professional Arts alliance. Ages 8-22 years.
