ACADEMY is the award-winning performing arts training & development school of AREA.

ACADEMY is designed for talented and gifted dancers between 6-18yrs to be developed for a professional career in Dance/Performance.
Students are selected based upon their dance skills, commitment, physical strength, desire to improve, and coachability. These students are evaluated by the Director, and have set Program class structures over a 12-month training cycle (August-July).

After Registering your child(ren) and submitting payment, anticipate an Email from our AREA Staff to finalize your Enrollment, Tuition and Level Placement by the Academy Director.

Stars Level 1Stars Level 1 | Ages 5-7 years This structured curriculum is for focused students who has been selected by the Artistic Director to begin a serious foundational training and development track. Students must take required coursework 2-x per week for this Level, and demonstrate a mastery of beginner level skills, vocabulary, flexibility, and coordination.

Stars Level 2Stars Level 2 | Ages 7-9 years This structured curriculum is for focused students who has been selected by the Artistic Director to continue on a serious foundational training and development track. Students must take required coursework 2-x per week for this Level and demonstrate a mastery of intermediate beginner level skills, vocabulary, flexibility, and coordination.

Stars Level 3Level 3 | Ages 9-11 years This structured curriculum is for focused students who has been selected by the Artistic Director to continue on a serious foundational training and development track. Students must take required coursework 3-x per week for this Level, and demonstrate a mastery of advanced beginner/intermediate level skills, vocabulary, flexibility, and coordination.

Immersion Upper LevelLevel 1 (Upper) | Ages 11-17 years This structured curriculum is for focused students who has been selected by the Artistic Director to continue on a serious foundational training and development track. Students must take required coursework at least 2-x per week for this Level and demonstrate a mastery of advanced level skills, vocabulary, flexibility, and coordination.

Immersion Lower LevelLower/Level 2 | Ages 11-7 years This structured curriculum is for focused students who has been selected by the Artistic Director to begin a serious foundational training and development track. Students must take required coursework at least 1-x per week for this Level, and demonstrate a mastery of intermediate advanced level skills, vocabulary, flexibility, and coordination.

Trainee Upper LevelThe Trainee Professional Upper Level Program is designed for serious-minded artists who want to become versatile multi-disciplined performers. It adheres to professional standards and grounded in classical techniques, and complemented by a variety of performing art styles to assure in depth training in technique and performance for a smooth transition into Pathways including: educator, choreographer, and/or performance. This pre-professional track requires artists to train a minimum of 8- hours a week in their respective Pathway, as well as participate in required rehearsals, workshops and/or intensives, and professional development options.
