AREA is proud to present AILEY SUMMER ATL, June 10 – June 14!
Designed for Ages 8 – 18 years, and broken up into two program levels, this one of a kind opportunity brings the best of New York to Atlanta!
Ages 8-12 years | 8:30a – 2p
Ailey Summer Jr. is a fun and creative way for kids ages 8 – 12yrs to keep moving this summer! This summer workshop offers the finest dance experience for young students by providing a variety of dance techniques classes including ballet, Horton, hip hop, West African and Broadway Jazz with top Ailey and other instructors from around the world.
Each class is designed to encourage creativity through dance and music which allows students to gain confidence and build self-esteem in a fun nurturing environment.
Participants will perform original choreography for family and friends at the culminating performance!
Ages 13-18 years | 4p – 9:15p
Ailey Summer Sr. offers teen dancers (AGES 13+) from around the world the opportunity to train and perform in a variety of dance techniques. Classes and workshops are taught by prominent New York choreographers, former Ailey company members, and acclaimed instructors who are committed to offering a unique dance experience for all levels. Ailey Summer Sr. is designed to embody the diversity of the Ailey dancer with technique classes in ballet, Horton, contemporary, hip-hop, West African, and Broadway jazz, while introducing dancers to an exciting world of choreography, creativity, and fun in a non-competitive environment.
