The Academy Summer Training Programs + Intensives  have earned a reputation for excellence ranging from exploratory to challenging comprehensive curriculums that emphasizes strong technique, artistry, and performance. Our summer offerings are dedicated to helping each individual student maximize his or her training experience and goals in the Performing Arts.

AREA In Motion (AIM) Division | Exploratory 

Offers weekly progressive classes for beginner through intermediate dancers whose interests lie in developing a love for dance but primarily for its social and health benefits. Our curriculum is designed for each individual student to help them grow into distinct artist, and is modified for those who want to commit to a less stringent curriculum. This recreational track allows dancers to choose the number of hours per week and type of class(es) taken. Ages 6 – 18 years

AREA Trainee Tracks | Pre-Professional:

Offers focused, intense, and unique 4-training program tracks options for the serious artist: Concert Track, Commercial Track, 3T Track, or Immersion Track. Students are afforded the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers and other professionals in entertainment and arts industries and have various performance opportunities. This pre-professional track track requires artists to train a minimum of 6- hours a week in their required training classes, plus participate in required professional development and performance requirements. Ages 9 – 22 years

Happy Kiddies Division | First Steps:

An enjoyable and introductory combination of Ballet, Tap, and Acrobatics, our rising stars will enjoy the challenge and benefit of our modern, creative arts- curriculum based learning program for beginners. Our Happy Kiddies develop body control and awareness, while exploring their own creative interpretation, assisting with memory, ability to focus, and body awareness that will ultimately help in their overall development. Ages 2-5 years

RISING STARS | Pre-Trainees:

Offers focused, intense, program for young emerging talent who are chosen by invitation only, and also through audition. These dancers  train a minimum of 3- hours a week in their required training classes, plus have the opportunity to participate in AREAs Performing Division. Ages 4 – 9 years

McClendon Professional Alliance (MPA) Company is composed of: MPA Senior Company and  MPA/2 Apprentice Company, and was conceived to give opportunity for professional and pre-professional performing artists the ability to create, perform, and grow through study, performance, and awareness. Its primary mission is to encourage a cooperative and collaborative creative experience, and to expose both the artists and the Atlanta community to a powerful culmination of talent and the true essences of a professional Arts alliance. Ages 12 – 24 years
